Fighting Food Waste,
One Share at a Time
Cravyon connects neighbors to reduce food waste and build stronger communities through sharing.
The Food Waste Problem
Every year, approximately 30–40% of the food supply in the United States goes to waste. That's more than 58 million tons of food annually, with an economic cost exceeding $400 billion per year.
A significant portion of this waste happens at the household level—in our kitchens, pantries, and refrigerators. We overbuy at the grocery store. We cook more than we can eat. Our gardens produce more than we can use. Pantry items expire before we remember they're there.
Yet most of this food is still perfectly good—it just needs to find the right person at the right time. Food waste isn't just about lost groceries. It represents wasted water, energy, labor, and resources. When food ends up in landfills, it releases methane, a potent greenhouse gas.
How Cravyon Helps
Our goal is to make food sharing as simple as possible. We believe the solution to household food waste starts with neighbors helping neighbors.
Connect Neighbors
We aim to make it easy for people to share surplus food and household items within their community, building relationships while reducing waste.
Reduce Waste
We believe small, everyday actions—when done by many people—can create meaningful change. Our platform helps shift the mindset from "throw it away" to "share it."
Support Communities
We support solutions at the source—where most waste begins, in our homes. Local reuse before disposal becomes the default.
Our Mission
To create a world where no good food goes to waste, and every community is connected through the simple act of sharing.
"We believe that the solution to food waste starts at home, and the power to change lies in our communities. By making it easy and rewarding to share food, we can transform how we think about surplus and scarcity."
